It continues to be a “Lucky Day” for Renewal House!! Renewal House is a transitional housing program for people 58 years old or more, who have been displaced and are transitioning back to independent living. Eran Troy Danner and his band have rescheduled our postponed benefit concert for Friday, February 10, 2012. We were knocked out by the October storm, but we’re back and ready to rock!

Eran Troy Danner is an award winning singer, guitarist, and songwriter who, along with other accomplishments, has won the 2010 CTBS Blues Challenge and the CTBS Best self-produced blues CD in 2010 with his “Lucky Day” CD. His performances are fun, compelling, and offer lots of opportunities to dance! To see him is to love him!

The concert will be held in the grand ballroom on Western Connecticut State University’s Westside Campus. The doors will open at 7:30pm. A mashed potato bar along with citrus sparkler punch and fruited waters will be served from 8pm. There will be a wine, beer, and seasonal cocktail cash bar available for those with ID. Eran and the band will perform from 9pm until midnight.

Success Story

Loretta

I was staying with my cousin, her six children and husband and it was crowded.  She saw the Renewal House sign at the hairdresser, so I gave Karen Messina a call.

It felt bad to be older and not have a place of my own; I had a part time job and was under a doctor’s care.  I was not on disability yet.  My knee was acting up badly and it was hard to get around.  Apartments were sky high and it was hard for me to get around to see them.  Driving was stressful for me so I turned my license in.

When I found Renewal House, it was a blessing for me.  I made friends with the other residents.  We had Bible Study and monthly house meetings.  I became more interested in the things that were going on here.

I cooked whatever I wanted once a week.  We all pitched in to do chores and dishes.  We all got along very good.  It was just like another family.

I have four children of my own, twelve grandchildren and became great, great grandmother last August.

What will you do today to help change a life forever?
