Where we are devoted to Rebuilding older lives by restoring independence, one life at a time. Please explore our site to learn about the unique history, the success experienced with our program and how you can help. Renewal House dramatically changes lives. Please help us help some of our most vulnerable people, the elderly homeless.
Our Vision is that no one ever need face homelessness. We will continue to work and advocate at the federal, state and local level for decent and affordable housing for the future.
Our Mission is to provide transitional housing, support and services for older (58+) homelessness in the Western Connecticut region.
Our Goal is to reduce homelessness of older individuals in the region. We do this by providing safe, secure housing, renewing a sense of hope, reinforcing self-worth and restoring dignity and confidence.
Our Objective is to help our residents secure their own permanent home as soon as possible. Although our program allows for a two-year stay, most residents move into permanent housing within 11 months.
Our Residents come to us through a variety of locally based sources such as social service agencies, shelters, hospitals, rehabilitation programs and soup kitchens.
Our Beliefs are that homelessness is a resolvable problem, that decent affordable housing is a basic right, and that older men and women with guidance, have the strength and skill with which to rebuild a successful life.
